Many are blessed with a gift but few rise to the level of showmanship, drive and stamina it takes to make a significant mark in a decisive industry. Poet and author she has written “Ressurrection the Spiritual Soul-Ja”, and has released a new polished work titled, "Identity Crisis, Identity Christ is". She was born and raised in Arlington, Virginia. She authored her sophomore poetry book also published by Xlibris, “I AM…just the introduction…Ressurrection Graves,”
She began writing poetry in 1993 and songwriting at the tender age of 8. She continues on today as she performs up and down the East Coast reciting life-changing verses. She has fan favorites such as: “Pity”, “Personal Time”, “Newness”, “Blood is Thicker”, “Miss U”, (which will be on her up coming CD project), and Spoken Word such as: “I AM Ressurrection,” “New Possibilities”, “Poetry Manifest”, “Ankhtree”, “Rape”, “Rock Bottom”, “World Peace Poem”, and many more.
Her next books show her growth as an artist and a woman who has triumphed.
Her poetry book offering a variety of her writing style including song lyrics. Her Memoir and Workbook Journal are a long awaited testimony of her life and how overcoming the adversities she has faced spiritually, mentally and physically have made her who she is now.
She offers a therapeutic word and touch to help others to manifest change while she too improves her relationship with herself and God. She called to the ministry of healing continues her education in efforts to be useful to God both spiritually and with knowledge for her clients to make a significant difference.
Her discipline and hard work has enabled her to enjoy an admirable amount of success throughout the Washington-Metropolitan area. Ressurrection possesses an abundance of charisma and talent. She parlayed these assets by placing fifth at the 2001 WORD Fair Convention and Seminar in Norfolk, Virginia.
Whether she is on a concert stage, open mic or poetry slam Graves as held her own against such notable poets as Jamal St. John, Queen Sheba, Komplex, 13 of Nazareth, God Child, and the Dri Fish. She holds a distinct honor of placing in every slam or competition she has entered.
She is the founder of a poetry open mic of “Somebody say WORD” which she hosts. A bi-weekly venue that affords area artists to use the atmosphere as a platform to share their work.
Ressurrection teamed up with the YMCA in Arlington, VA to provide a creative arts program with an emphasis on poetry and she looks forward to more child-centered opportunities in the educational system.
Ressurrection is frequently requested to minister in churches, prisons, and colleges. Her book "Identity Crisis: Identity Christ is" is an awesome addition to any ministry, group, middle or high school, and prison library.
While she is born an artist in word, she has found that massage is another gift that too has matured her and given her a path from which to walk in order to achieve God’s goodness and fullness for her life. She works to bring together for marriage the two art forms that can facilitate Resurrection in people’s lives.
H.E.A.L. Massage and Bodywork a center opened for spiritual, emotional/mental, and physical healing through massage and open mic word offered. While there are nail shops and hair salons (turned spas), in the area, there are not places that specialize in massage as does, HMB.
She embraces the opportunity to educate clients on their bodies and bring light to the need of these therapies to reduce stress and be an advocate for growth and healing as a continuum to prevent or eliminate dis-ease and not manage it.
Ressurrection Graves is a Nationally Certified Massage Therapist as of November 2006 after completing an Associate Degree program in Massage Therapy at the Heritage Institute located in Falls Church, Virginia.
Her hands are a story to tell; Deep Swedish, with a melodic cadence that seek and destroy trigger points while leaving her clients in a sense of deep relaxation and liberty to release physically, mentally and emotionally on her table.

During her core diploma studies she learned to execute Swedish, Deep Tissue, Myofascial release, Thai massage, Trigger Point Therapy, Energy Work, Reflexology, Sports Massage and other techniques within those specific modalities.
While her Associate Degree studies included Medical Massage, Clinical Assessment and Traditional Chinese Medicine, Ressurrection believes she is called to focus on Somatic Emotional Release, Visceral Manipulation, Craniosacral therapy, and Thai massage. Ressurrection is Certified in Fibromyalgia, and facilitates Chronic pain groups, offering treatment plans to Fibromyalgia clients to help them heal and eliminate pain.
In the next year between massages, speaking and signing her book around the country, healing workshops and family, these continuing education classes will be integrated in to her healing work schedule. She is also interested in relationship counseling through the medium of private couple's massage lessons to bring clients closer through touch.
